In 1965, NASA declared the Omega Speedmaster “Flight Qualified for All Manned Space Missions” — the only watch to pass their battery of extreme-environment tests. All 12 astronauts who walked on the Moon wore one. This Sedna Gold variant brings that legacy into 18K precious metal: the case, crown, pushers, and bezel frame are executed in Omega’s proprietary rose gold alloy, formulated with gold, copper, and palladium for a warm, lasting hue that resists the colour fading common in standard rose gold alloys.
The black step dial draws directly from the 4th-generation Moonwatch — the reference worn on the lunar surface — with gold-tone markers and hands that match the case. Sapphire crystals on both front and caseback (the “sapphire sandwich” configuration, standard on all precious metal Moonwatches) expose the hand-wound Calibre 3861 movement within. The Calibre 3861 carries both COSC chronometer and METAS Master Chronometer certification, accurate to 0/+5 sec/day and resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss.
